At Tamil Professionals Network (TPN), we respect your privacy and are committed to protecting any personal information we collect from our members, volunteers, donors, and visitors to our website. This privacy policy outlines how we collect, use, and safeguard your personal data.
1. Professional Conduct:
When attending any event hosted by TPN, members are reminded of the importance of fostering a safe and professional environment. Thus, all members are required to maintain a standard of professionalism throughout.
2. Positive Representation:
The behaviour of TPN members must consistently uphold the positive image of the organisation. Any conduct that may cause discomfort to any mentor, mentee, or attendee, is strictly prohibited.
3. Respectful Communication:
All members are expected to communicate in a respectful and professional manner. Any form of harassment, use of derogatory language, or disrespectful behaviour is not tolerated within the TPN community.
4. Professional Engagement:
Members must recognise that TPN events are strictly for professional purposes, including but not limited to learning, facilitating educational/professional development, and expanding professional networks. All interactions and engagements should align with these objectives.
5. Commitment Expectations:
Members are expected to actively engage in TPN activities, including attending events, participating in our annual Student Mentorship Programme, and contributing to the overall growth and development of the organisation. Consistent involvement demonstrates commitment to TPN’s mission and maximises the impact of mentorship efforts on student success.
6. Accountability & External Conduct:
While friendly conversations are encouraged during TPN events, interactions may extend beyond the confines of these occasions e.g. via social media. While TPN cannot regulate external conduct, any reports of misconduct, inappropriate behaviour, criminal activity, or similar concerns will prompt a thorough review by TPN stream leads. Based on the findings, appropriate actions will be taken as deemed necessary.
7. Responsibility for Safe Space:
All members share the responsibility of upholding the safe space TPN strives to create. Therefore, in addition to adhering to the above Terms & Conditions, members are obliged to report any observed violations of these guidelines by fellow members to the TPN stream leads promptly, ensuring appropriate action can be made.
8. Confidentiality:
Members must respect the confidentiality of any sensitive information shared within the TPN community, including but not limited to personal stories and professional experiences disclosed by students or fellow mentors. Disclosure of such information to third parties without explicit consent is strictly prohibited.
9. Disciplinary Action:
By accepting the role of a TPN mentor, participating in TPN events, and remaining active within the TPN WhatsApp community, all members implicitly agree to adhere to these Terms & Conditions. Failure to comply may result in disciplinary measures, including the potential removal from the TPN network.

We may utilise or disclose personal information provided for the following purposes:
Your personal information will be used for mailing lists and adding individuals to the Early Career Professionals Mentorship Network WhatsApp Community. For research and analysis purposes to improve our website and services. To ensure the safety, security, and integrity of our operations. To offer a personalised experienced, sharing content appropriate to your interests e.g. upcoming events and job opportunities. Use of photographed and/or recorded material of you at TPN events for marketing and promotional purposes, without compensation or further approval required. We will not collect additional personal information or use collected data for materially different, unrelated, or incompatible purposes without your awareness.
