Our Story

TPN’s journey began in December 2022, when a group of recent graduates came together to launch an Instagram page aimed at sharing educational content to support University students. What started as a digital platform quickly grew into a thriving network, connecting students seeking guidance with professionals eager to give back to their community.

In just two years, TPN has brought together hundreds of students, graduates, and professionals, bridging generations and creating a space for mentorship, shared learning, and growth.

The inspiration behind TPN is rooted in the legacy of Mr. Sellappah Thevarajah, the grandfather of TPN’s founder, Dharnya. A respected figure in the Tamil community, Mr Thevarajah was deeply committed to creating opportunities for others and ensuring that future generations would be better off.

One year after his passing, Dharnya built the foundations to carry forward his vision and continue his legacy. Inspired by his values, TPN was created to unite the Tamil community and provide students and professionals with the tools and support needed to realise their full potential.

Today, TPN stands as a pillar of professional excellence within the Tamil community, carrying forward Mr. Thevarajah’s vision to build a stronger, more empowered community for the generations to come.

Tamil Professionals Network is a non-profit organisation dedicated to fostering professional development across the Tamil community. Through career workshops, networking events and mentorship, TPN facilitates knowledge exchange across generations, helping students and professionals realise their career ambitions and goals.
