The Founding Story

TPN’s journey began in December 2022, simply as an Instagram page dedicated to sharing educational content to support university students. What started as a digital platform soon became a vibrant network, connecting professionals eager to give back to their community with students seeking guidance.

Within two years, TPN has grown into a thriving community, uniting hundreds of students, graduates, and professionals, bridging the gap between generations and fostering shared learning.

The inspiration behind TPN is deeply personal. The founder, Dharnya, was profoundly influenced by her Thatha, Mr. Sellappah Thevarajah, a strong pillar in the Tamil community. His efforts to provide opportunities for others in the community and deep value for education left a lasting impact. His commitment to education wasn’t just about academic success, but also about empowering future generations and ensuring they have access to the opportunities to succeed.

Determined to honour her Thatha’s legacy, Dharnya built the foundations to establish TPN as a non-profit organisation with a clear mission: to unite the Tamil community and ensure that all students and professionals can access the tools to reach their potential.

Today, TPN stands as a pillar of professional excellence within the Tamil community. Inspired by Mr Sellappah Thevarajah, TPN is committed to continuing his legacy to build a better future and ensure that we are advancing as a community, empowering the generations to come.

Our Mission

Tamil Professionals Network is a non-profit organisation dedicated to fostering professional development across the Tamil community. Through career workshops, networking events and mentorship, TPN facilitates knowledge exchange across generations, helping students and professionals realise their career ambitions and goals.
